2002-04-28 Fans Greet Michael Jackson in New York
MJNI, Planet Jackson and Angel have been overwhelmed with reports of sightings by fans of Michael Jackson in New York.
Michael has been in the American city for a performance at the Democratic Convention on Wednesday 24th April, during which he wowed the crowd with three songs: Dangerous, Black or White and Heal The World.
On his way into and out of the venue, he was met by fans holding up banners proclaiming their participation in the current Demonstration of Support for Michael Jackson that is being organised by MJ News International, Planet Jackson and Angel with the support of over 20 other fan clubs (and counting).
On the morning of Friday 26th April, Michael left his New York hotel for a meeting. Upon his return at 11.30am, he was greeted by fans in the garage of the hotel. Eye-witnesses tell us that Michael chanted with the fans, and pointed at their banners.
On Saturday 27th April, fans gathered together for an impromptu second meeting outside the Sony Plaza on Madison Avenue. Their banners called for support of Michael Jackson and they explained their concerns to curious passers by.
Michael is expected to leave New York for Los Angeles on Monday.
